2. Data we may process

If you contact us through the Contact form, we may process your name, email address, request type, whether the enquiry is for you or an organization, any context or area of interest you provide, your description of the situation, the change or outcome you would like, and your confirmation regarding the use of the submitted information to respond to the enquiry.

If you contact us directly by email or phone, we may process your contact details, the content of your message and any other information you choose to provide. Please do not send sensitive data or information about other people unless it is necessary for your request.

The form also uses a hidden technical field to filter automated spam submissions. The hosting provider may generate technical data needed to operate and secure the service, such as request information and technical logs.

3. How the contact form works

When you submit the form, the information is sent over HTTPS to the internal /api/contact endpoint on bogdanvizitiu.com. The endpoint validates required fields, limits payload size and applies the anti-spam check before attempting message delivery.

When direct delivery is configured and available, the enquiry content is sent to Resend, a service provided by Plus Five Five, Inc., to deliver the message to contact@bogdanvizitiu.com. According to Resend's documentation, data needed for email delivery may include at least the email address, message metadata and message content.

If direct delivery is not configured or fails, the website may open your email application with the recipient, subject and message pre-filled. In that case, the message is sent only if you choose to send it from your email application.

4. Purposes and legal bases

We process data to receive, assess and respond to enquiries, to determine whether and on what terms working together may make sense and, where an enquiry concerns a potential service engagement, to take steps at your request before entering into a contract under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.

Depending on the nature of the enquiry, processing needed to manage correspondence, secure the website and prevent abuse may rely on legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

For contract performance and legal obligations, Articles 6(1)(b) and (c) GDPR may apply. We do not currently operate a newsletter or automated marketing communications.

5. Analytics and cookies

The website uses Vercel Web Analytics for aggregated traffic statistics. According to Vercel documentation, Web Analytics does not use third-party cookies to identify visitors and does not associate statistics with an identifiable person.

Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag and other behavioural advertising tools are not currently installed. If technologies requiring consent are introduced, they will not be loaded before the user has made a choice.

6. Recipients

Data may be accessible to technical providers needed to operate the website and communications, including Vercel for hosting and analytics and, for delivery of form-generated messages where this function is configured, Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc.). Data may also be accessible to the mailbox provider used for contact@bogdanvizitiu.com and, where necessary, accounting, legal or other professional service providers with a legitimate need for access.

We may disclose data to public authorities where required by law.

7. Transfers outside the European Economic Area

Resend states in its Data Processing Addendum that its primary processing operations take place in the United States and that it may transfer personal data outside the EEA as necessary to provide the service. Resend states that it uses mechanisms provided by applicable data-protection law, including the EU Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers that require them, and states that it participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

8. Retention

We retain data only for as long as necessary to respond to the request and fulfil the purpose for which it was collected. If the discussion leads to a contractual relationship, some information may subsequently be retained for periods required by tax, accounting or other legal obligations and for the establishment or defence of legal claims.

Technical providers may retain certain data under their own policies and contractual obligations. Resend states in its Data Processing Addendum that it processes customer data while the agreement remains active and, after use of the service ends, deletes customer data within the period specified in its applicable documentation.
